On the 19th May, 2023, the students from Goszczyński High School with their teacher Mr Grzegorz Słowik, taking part in the Erasmus+ Project Take Action For the Earth, had an opportunity to visit the District Sanitary-Epidemiological Station and participated in a very interesting presentation. The topic of it was purifying water before it goes to our taps.
During the meeting, we got to know some essential processes of water purification which are made before it is drunk by people. We also learnt about the stages water goes through to become safe and healthy to use.
Our attention was drawn to hazardous bacteria which may appear in potable water if the process of purification is not led properly. We also got some information about the health consequences if we continue drinking polluted water and precautions that should be taken to avoid this danger. It was a very educative experience which confirmed our opinions about taking care of the quality of water we use on daily basis.
We are glad that we could particpate in this presentation and widen our knowledge about the issue of water. Programme Erasmus+ Take Action For the Earth gives us many opportunities not only to gain information about various topics but also to engage us in practical activities which are to help the environment. We are ready to take further steps and popularize the idea of sustainable development and protection of water resources.
